Winner of the Most Out-of-Touch Award

Ralph Nader.

I admire the man - hell, I once voted for him as a Georgia contrarian back when a third party seemed like a political possibility. But in 2008, Nader-as-Don-Quixote is an embarassment.

Since I'm not American, it's hard for me to comment, unless I mean to remember him from the 60'ies and something to do with car producers etc. and labour force??

Nader is a hero of mine... just not much of a politician. You're perhaps referring to his sixties work - Unsafe At Any Speed - about the problems with American cars. He is a consumer activist who has chronicled government and industrial corruption in dozens of books.
